As a cinematographer, my job is to listen to the Director, to understand what is needed, then to translate into the right image. To be a good cinematographer is more about listening first to the vision of the writer/director and understanding the finished look required. To understand the mood, the colours, the feel of the film is, in my opinion, the first important task of a cinematographer. After that, it’s about guiding the audience gently down a path, allowing them to feel what the director has in store for them and to discover the story.
I am happy to take direction and to offer an opinion on all aspects of the shoot. I am easy to work with, never late and happy to try things a little differently. I can supply references on request and I am happy to be involved in shot planning and recce, as well as equipment recommendations.
I am a fully self-contained cinematographer with a full HD kit.
Can also call upon an experienced focus puller, Sound Recordist, Runner, Driver, MUA.
